The pool turns out to be a great choice. You didn't pack a swimsuit with you, but you have some money on you so you buy one at the store just outside the entrance. After you've changed in the locker room you head out into the pool area, spreading out your towel on a chair to claim it. There is a group of four children splashing in the shallow end, and a few people floating lazily but it's a large pool so you're not worried about it. You jump off the diving board, wanting to get right in. After you surface you stay floating on your back, staring up at the ceiling.
